GRANITE AWARDED $61 MILLION INTERSTATE REHABILITATION PROJECT IN CALIFORNIA
Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $61 million contract by Caltrans for the rehabilitation of Interstate 10 in Riverside County, California. Granite will book the project into backlog during the first quarter of 2016.
Scope of the contract includes the rehabilitation of approximately 31 miles of Interstate 10 between the cities of Coachella and Desert Center in the southern California desert. Over 1.6 million square yards of roadway will be cold milled and replaced with 576,000 tons of conventional hot-mix asphalt and 170,000 tons of rubber hot-mix asphalt. Granite will also perform the shoulder grading work.
Construction will begin in May 2016 and be completed in late 2017.
