WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced the award of a $72 million design-build interstate reconstruction contract by the Nevada Department of Transportation. Granite will book the project into backlog during the second quarter of 2011.
The Interstate 80 Robb to Vista Boulevard project will be built with a combination of resources from Granite’s local team based in Reno as well as experts from the company’s Large Projects group. Scope of the work includes reconditioning approximately ten miles of Interstate 80 through Reno, including excavation, drainage improvements, concrete and asphalt paving, concrete barrier wall installation, signage and landscaping. The contract also calls for an additional lane to be added to two miles of the interstate.
Work is estimated to begin in April 2011 and be completed by November of 2012.
