Granite Construction's Randy J. Kremer Honored by NSSGA
WATSONVILLE, Calif., Mar 09, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) today announced that Randy J. Kremer, Granite's Vice President and Manager of Construction Materials for Granite West, is the recipient of the 2009 National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association's (NSSGA) 12th Annual Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award. This award provides recognition to an individual who exemplifies the qualities of leadership and commitment in the aggregates industry and is the association's highest individual honor and service award.

Kremer joined Granite in 1973 as Manager of the Ready-Mix Department for the Sacramento Valley Branch. In 1984, Kremer was promoted to Corporate Plants Manager where he oversaw all construction materials businesses across the West. During this time, he developed and helped implement Granite's training program for Plant Engineers. Kremer moved into his current role as Vice President and Manager of Construction Materials in 2004.
In addition to his involvement in the NSSGA, Kremer has previously served as Chairman and Director of both the Northern California Aggregate Producers' Association and the Aggregate and Concrete Association of Northern California, and the Construction Materials Association of California. He has also served as an Executive Committee Member of the NSSGA and the California Construction and Industrial Materials Association.
