WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) today announced thatGranite Construction Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary, was awarded a$44 million contract by the California Department of Transportation torehabilitate approximately 12 miles of Interstate 80 in Placer County,located 50 miles northeast of Sacramento.
Scope of the work includes approximately 110,000 cubic yards ofroadway excavation, 215,000 tons of asphalt concrete and 60,000 linearfeet of concrete barriers.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin in April 2009 and isestimated to be completed by October 2009.
