WATSONVILLE, Calif., July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GraniteConstruction Incorporated (NYSE: GVA) announced today that GraniteConstruction Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary, was awarded a $26 millioncontract by the Utah Department of Transportation to reconstruct an existingone-mile section of Riverdale Road in Weber County. This is the fourth andfinal contract awarded to Granite for this project. The four awardedcontracts totaled $40 million.
Located north of Salt Lake City, the one-mile project will include theaddition of a new lane in both directions and the reconstruction of the bridgeand Interstate 84 interchange. The majority of the bridge will be constructedoff-site, limiting the impact to the traveling public. Scope of the projectalso includes the replacement of curbs, gutters and sidewalks, as well as newstreet lighting, signals and a storm drainage system.
Work on the project is currently underway with an estimated completiondate of May 2009.
