Bridge Design + Construction

Safe Bridge Removal

Our structures teams are highly skilled at safe bridge demolition and removal, as well as environmentally sensitive options, such as removal in whole sections for zero impact to creek beds or waterways.

Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC)

Granite utilizes the ABC technique to infuse innovation in a safe and cost-effective manner to reduce onsite construction time that occurs when building new bridges or replacing and rehabilitating existing bridges. Metrics include onsite construction time and mobility impact time to the traveling public.

PA 500 Bridges Replacement P3

More than 500 of Pennsylvania’s worst bridges will be replaced under an innovative program to finance, design, build the bridges, and maintain them for 25 years. Granite is leading the build of the $900 million dollar program, and will accelerate construction to complete in three years vs. 12 years using traditional contracting methods.

Eagle Canyon

Originally built in 1965, Eagle Canyon Bridge is located in a remote area approximately 200 miles from Salt Lake City, UT. Construction crews swiftly re-decked the bridge in five short months. The project won UDOT’s Best Partnered CMGC Award, AGC and UDOT's Rural Project of the Year.

George Bush

This project included the construction of a 2.5-mile addition to an existing six-lane divided toll road, as well as the construction of 13 bridges.

Euclid Pedestrian Bridge - Tucson, AZ

Located in close proximity to the University of Arizona, the Euclid basket pedestrian bridge and multi-use lane allows pedestrians to safely cross over several lanes of high-volume traffic.

Florida Jewfish Creek Bridge

Referred to by locals as the "Overseas Highway," the project included seven miles of new bridge construction along the northern Florida Keys, ensuring the single safest hurricane evacuation route.

Louisiana’s John James Audubon Bridge

Completed in 2011, the bridge over the Mississippi River has the second-longest cable-stayed span in the Western Hemisphere.

King County's Tolt River Bridge

With water work accommodating bull trout and salmon spawning seasons, the Granite team managed to complete the project on time with no environmental impacts.

New York's Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement

The New NY Bridge will replace the existing Tappan Zee Bridge, delivering less congestion and frustration for motorists, with eight general traffic lanes, breakdown/emergency lanes and state-of-the-art traffic monitoring systems.

Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Virginia Approach Spans

This project involved two new two six-lane bridges across the Potomac River, with a capacity of 300,000 vehicles per day. The project exceeded expectations in schedule, disadvantaged business enterprise participation, and environmental stewardship.
